World is a Paradox

I believe in God. And I feel God is omnipotent – all powerful and can do anything. But recently I happened to see the argument disproving “God is omnipotent”. The argument goes like this – “If God can create a stone so heavy that He can’t lift it then He is omnipotent. Strange, don’t you think so? It’s obvious from the argument that if God can’t create such a stone he is not omnipotent. And if he can create such a stone still he is omnipotent as he can’t lift it. Yeah, this is a paradox and is called Paradox of Philosopher’s stone. Isn’t this interesting?

Of course, not just the stone, it will do with any simple contradictory statements like “If God can prove He is not omnipotent, He is omnipotent.” This is not just about proving God is not omnipotent. This proves that no one can be omnipotent.

Okay, let’s get into the field of Mathematics. Like many I am too not comfortable with it. My friend asked me, “Is 1000000 a big positive integer?” I may be not that good at Mathematics but I can answer this simple question. I answered “Yes”. Then he continued, “Is 1 a small positive integer?” I replied, “It is the smallest “. “ If n is a small positive integer, then n+1 is also small integer. What do you say?” Of course it is correct. He ended, “Then every integer is a small integer. And 100000 is also a small integer”. ”Yes, but no,” I am confused. I thought mathematicians like magicians they work for hours and hours on imaginary things (variables). Today I can say, these mathematicians are also crazy, they can prove anything, even 1 = 0.

I will end this post with a famous Liar’s paradox. - A man says that he is lying; is what he says true or false?

We have to understand that Maths in our mind is connected with value judgement and we will always be confused as a result as we mix up two things - Maths and Philosophy. I will give you another paradox that might fascinate you. God exists and God doesn't exist. Both statements are equally correct and true! God doesn't exist because it is nowhere. You can't see it, you can't touch it and it doesn't sit anywhere in the universe. There is absolutely no God whatsoever and that's why it can't do or undo things you expect God to do. At the same time we can deal with the phenomenon of God by talking to God, writing about God, worship God, rename God by giving God different names, concepts, versions, explanations etc. We are inspired by God and create a good half of what we do because of God's existance. I will give you an example. I created a hugely powerful concept of Limus. Do you think it exists? You would say, "Well, I don't have a clue what this Limus is. At least I can say for sure that even if it does exist it is not important. In 50 years time, however, parents will say to their children, "Can you imagine, sweetie, at the beginning of 21st century people didn't even know what Limus was!!!" And children would say, "They couldn't have been so stupid, they already had computers and flew to the Moon!!" Imagine that in 5 years time the concept of Limus will take off in a big way (you can read my e-book "An Ordinary Black Cat" to find out why from www.catyourway.com) and it will turn into a major religion. People would create Limus out of... no, not nothing, but nothing more than an idea... The same with God. 5000 years ago God was irrelevant to people and nobody had a concept of God. Now, half of 6 and a half billion of us believe in God so it exists as we have created God out of... an idea. So, God is a concept, it is our mind. It is not tangable. It doesn't exist and God does exist at the same time, because our brain exist and whatever exists in the brain of billions of people ... exist, doesn't it? Well, yes and no at the same time. Read "An Ordinary Black Cat" from my web page. the 1st chapter I made available for free. If you read the whole book, though, you might really understand the paradox I was talking about. Good Luck!!

In order to concieve the paradox, one must look at how its interpreted. In a casual read ,it's a lose-lose situation correct, because God's omnipotence challenges itself to its validity.

However, logic tells us that paradoxes are meant to revolve around a central idea, leaving you in a circle with no definite answer. Therefore, the only actual way to get around this paradox is challenge logic itself, since human comprehension is limited by the matter capacity of our universe. If logic itself is finite, it is not meant to be used to understand an infinite system, aka circles, which is exactly what a paradox is in this case. So therefore, God can exist outside of the laws of logic, but outside of our comprehension, knowing that our universe is in fact finite.

So let's say in an infinite universe, such an interpretation could say God could perform both acts, thus nullifying the paradox altogether. However, most peple who aim to disprove God limit themselves to the universal dimensions that govern our daily lives, where they avoid the abstract and extraordinary philosophies that seek to explain the paradoxes such as this. In a sencce, they are not open to ALL ideas, just those that makes sense.

Past, Present and Future - All are abstract.
